Hot dogs, daffodils, ,classic rock and ginger ale. What more could a duck ask for?

Keeping it real.

Southern weather can be tricky, guess that's why the birds fly this way. With sun and 65 for the forecast, duck spends some time keeping it real. One eye on the suet (damn squirrels) and the other on video chat with his mom.

You just can't beat French Roast from Starducks. (shhh!) Perfect for a morning of people watching and getting caught up with your feathered freinds on duck-book.

Grandpa Doug's Birthday Party

Duck celebrates Grandpa's birthday with smoked sausages and ginger ale. Oldies on the radio during sun set makes the night kind of special. Cajun marinade, barbecue sauce and some fresh garlic add the right amount of spice to a delicious party.

.

Sorry Louis, no dogs (or squirrels or mosquitoes) allowed in cook's corner when the grill is lit.

Upgrades from the thrift store.

Duck has made it out from under the table and is sporting his new monkey grass feathers. Tacky candles from the thrift store really make the place look nice again. Notice, there is no terra-cotta mosquito candle holder (or squirrel candle either!) Let's just hope the bumble bees behave or the dragon flies will sew their mouths shut. Anyway, the propane guy showed up so there should be some good cooking going on soon. If only somebody would go to the food store!

Under the weather.

Looks like Duck is a little under the weather (and the table) after the squirrels wrecked the place. Not much going on at the bistro on account of the rain and lack of propane. Too bad about the pumpkin pie and the broken dishes. We'll get cleaned up and back to normal once the rains leave.

A cup of kindness to our rotting friends.

Looking through the fuzzy back door at the sunset dinner party. Looks like squirrel is about to start making pumpkin pie. Here at the bistro we value life at a slower pace and try not to judge, even if you really are a leftover fruit from a holiday long forgot. Should aulde pumpkins be forgot and never brought to mind? Not at Duck's Bistro!

Making some new freinds.

Ice remnants from the roof of cook's corner combine with festive Nandina berries for an inviting setting. Duck hopes some of his feathered friends will flock together for a sunset dinner of fine seeds and good conversation. Only squirrels who know how to make pumpkin pie will be allowed to stay.

Cheddar Brats with Duck

Duck celebrates the first snow storm of the year with Cheddar Brats on the grill late one Thursday night. A fitting tryout for the new Christmas grilling tools. Bottle opener on the end of the spatula sure will come in handy later in the year. Sad to report to grill ran out of propane by the end of the night and the party had to move indoors.
